PI 2884 – Mobile Train Weighing Facility Decision for Purchase for Hong Kong Metro

The Mobile Train Weighing Facility (MTW), which was initially hired from Trakblaze Australia for measuring the wheel and axle loads of our airport railway EMU fleet has excellent performance and is very user friendly. After one month of use, we decided to purchase the MTW.

The MTW performed all tasks required within the specified accuracy, and is very portable, our people were shown how to install operate the unit twice, and this was enough for us to be able to use the MTW on our own. More importantly, the MTW does not incur any permanent damage to the track and expensive civil installation costs can be avoided. In short the MTW does the job it is designed to do very well.
